There are lots of jobs we undertake around tree surgery. Sometimes the job is simply about removing branches to let light into the garden below in such a way so as not to damage the tree. Pruning is a balance of the needs of the customer and the needs of the tree – done wrong, the entire tree could be at risk.
Crown reductions are another common request that involves careful and selective removal of branches so that the tree retains its shape and integrity, but the number of branches is reduced. This makes it a little thinner, let’s more light through and makes the tree less likely to suffer in high winds. It can even prolong the lifespan of the tree, making it steadier and less likely to fall in extreme weather.
Occasionally, our job is to remove a dead tree or shrub and we have different methods depending on where it is and how close the nearest buildings are. We can fell trees or simply dismantle them from the top down so there’s no risk of damage if buildings are close by.
